APT Physical Therapy now offers Nintendo's Wii game system to use as part of the physical therapy routines for patients recovering from various illnesses, strokes, surgeries, accidents and other injuries. Patients use the unique, motion-sensitive game controller to play games to build arm strength and enhance their reflexes and hand-eye coordination.

We use Nintendo's Wii Sports and Wii Fitness games and controllers which include games based on tennis, baseball, golf, bowling and skiing, boxing and a few puzzle games as well. Because of the controller’s motion sensor, and the Wii Balance Board, all of these games require the player to use the actual movements required in the actual sport. That is to say, the gamer must perform an actual tennis serve, a golf swing, or a skii hop for the game to work properly.
